The HR Finance role is a critical function bridging the gap between Human Resources and Finance departments. This position ensures the financial integrity and efficiency of HR-related activities, contributing significantly to the organization's overall strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Budget Management: Develop, manage, and monitor the HR department's budget, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines and optimizing resource allocation. This includes forecasting expenses, analyzing variances, and providing recommendations for cost-saving measures.
- Payroll Oversight: Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, including salaries, wages, bonuses, and benefits. This involves reviewing payroll reports, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Benefits Administration Analysis: Analyze the financial performance of employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies. This includes evaluating cost trends, negotiating with vendors, and recommending plan design changes to optimize cost-effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
- Compensation Analysis: Conduct market research and analyze compensation data to develop and maintain competitive salary structures. This involves participating in salary surveys, evaluating job positions, and recommending adjustments to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
- HR Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze HR-related financial reports, including headcount reports, turnover reports, and cost-per-hire metrics. This involves identifying trends, providing insights, and making recommendations to improve HR performance.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements related to HR activities. This includes staying up-to-date on changes in legislation, implementing appropriate controls, and conducting audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Financial Modeling and Forecasting: Develop financial models and forecasts to support HR strategic planning initiatives, such as workforce planning, succession planning, and talent acquisition. This involves analyzing data, identifying trends, and projecting future costs and benefits.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Finance, Accounting, and Legal, to ensure the financial accuracy and efficiency of HR-related activities. This involves participating in cross-functional teams, sharing information, and resolving issues collaboratively.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits related to HR financial activities, providing documentation and explanations as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in finance, accounting, or HR finance roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with budget management, financial analysis, and forecasting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors) is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
